Ask a Question-
I notice ,outer row 1st , has 12 buttons instead of 10 such as the hohner does it make dirrerence in playing
Hello and many thanks for your question.
As with all custom made instruments the layout is flexible and can be created to fit your requirments.
This model is in the key of A/D/G and you will notice the rows are 12/11/10 in number.
On the first row, the A row, the first note of the scale is on the 3rd button from the chin.
The two notes nearer the chin are the standard notes, Eb/F and E/G#.
This pattern continues on the other two rows.
At the top of the instrument you gain extra range, on the A row E/B and A/D, on the D row, A/E
From a playing standpoint it should therefore feel no different than playing on a 10 button single row, 3rd button start. Once you are ready you can extend and make use of the extra notes.
Of course if you wished for a different layout this can be acheived, just drop us a message to info@thereedlounge.com and we will be able to guide further.
Best wishes
